New Paltz and the Hudson Valley is steeped in history, natural beauty, culture and a burgeoning food and farmer"s market. There are many outdoor activities with many hiking and biking trails. Best of all, at Gatehouse Gardens, the Mohonk Preserve is right at your doorstep.
One of my other day trips is Minnewaska State Park. There are beautiful lakes, waterfalls and hiking trails. Stop at the Mountain Store, get your picnic lunch and spend the day exploring Minnewaska.
